Unite by Dance Workshop

Unite by Dance recently held a workshop in collaboration with the program ThinkEltham. ThinkEltham allows children to explore different activities and hobbies such as dance, baking, writing and more. ThinkEltham is a unique experience for children around the Melbourne suburb of Eltham to make friends and learn new things.

In collaboration with ThinkEltham, Unite by Dance designed a lesson for kids to discover the coordination, balance and strength that dance requires, and win prizes for their efforts. The children also learnt the importance of teamwork through fun activities. They were able to express themselves through a game of musical statues where the instructors and kids danced together. To end the workshop, the children were taught a simple and popular dance, 'Cupid' by FIFTY FIFTY. We received overwhelmingly positive feedback from the children after this event. The volunteer teacher, Damien, saw the positive effect on the children and said he was "so glad [he] was able to do this". Ultimately, we hope the children enjoyed the experience and continue their dance journeys; their joy and passion has inspired us greatly.
